Support

Help with your account, sharing and the app.

Most questions about a profile, its adults and its storage are answered below. If something's still unclear, we're a short email away.

Account

Your account and profiles.

You create an adult account with your name and an email address or phone number, which you verify with a code we send you, or with another sign-in option shown in the app. From then on you sign in with a code sent to your email or phone, with a passkey (using face or fingerprint unlock or your device PIN), or with another sign-in option shown in the app. Accounts that already have a password can still use it. Creating your account is free. Membership for a child's profile is set up inside the app.

A child's profile needs a birth date; gender is optional. Your location is optional too. It is used to make guides and suggestions relevant to where you live, to choose the right emergency number, and as context for the assistant.

If you cannot sign in

Request a new code from the sign-in screen; each code works for a short time only. You can add a passkey in Settings. If you are locked out of your email, your phone number or your account, email [email protected].

Sharing

Sharing a child's profile.

Each child's profile has 1 owner and room for up to 4 invited adults, 5 linked adults in total. Sharing is per child: inviting someone to one profile doesn't give them access to a sibling or a profile created later.

Everyone linked to a profile, owner and invited adults alike, can edit the child's details and view, add, edit, delete and export shared care and Journal entries, including entries someone else recorded. Only the owner manages billing, removes another adult or deletes the profile.

Inviting someone

The owner, or an invited adult where the app allows it, sends an invitation from the app. The app can email the invitation to the person you invite, or you can share the invitation code yourself, however you'd normally share anything: by text, call or in person. An invitation only covers the profiles you choose, and it expires if it isn't accepted in time.

Removing access or leaving a profile

The owner can remove an adult from a shared profile at any time; this stops their access going forward but can't recall a copy they've already exported. An invited adult can leave a shared profile whenever they choose.

Billing

Billing follows the owner.

Adult accounts are free. Membership for a child's profile is set up by that child's owner inside the app. Adults invited to that child don't buy anything again to get the same access.

Only the owner manages that child's plan. To change or cancel it, use your App Store or Google Play account settings, not this website.

If a membership ends, the records on that profile are kept. Adding and editing may pause, and some features, such as the assistant, may be unavailable until membership is set up again.

Exports

Taking a copy with you.

Anyone linked to a profile can request an export of it: a calendar-year yearbook as a PDF, or everything as a full ZIP archive. A full archive can include entries that were deleted in the app and earlier versions of entries. Preparing a download can take a little time.

A finished download is private to the adult who asked for it and only available for a limited time. Once a copy is saved or sent somewhere else, it's outside Withya's control.

Storage and limits

Generous everyday use, shared fairly.

Photos and videos share the child’s storage allowance, and each adult linked to that child sees the same library and the same usage. The owner can view storage options in the app.

Each video can be up to 10 minutes. Photos and videos both draw from the same shared storage.

Each child has 20 assistant questions a day and 100 a month, shared by all adults linked to that child.

If a limit is reached, new uploads or questions may pause. Nothing already saved is deleted because a limit was reached.

Account deletion

Delete your account.

Start account deletion in the app from Settings, or delete your account on the web, after you verify it's you. A short recovery period follows; if you change your mind, sign in again during it and the deletion is cancelled. Before you confirm anything, the app shows you the child profiles you own, any other profiles where you're an invited adult, and any billing connected to your account, so you can see the effect first.

Deleting your Withya account doesn't cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Those are managed separately, in the relevant store.

If you have a question about what deletion will do, email [email protected] before you start.

Questions

A few more answers.

Who is Withya for?

Adult parents and the caregivers they trust, looking after a child from birth through age five.

Can my partner or another caregiver see the same Journal?

Yes, once they're invited to that child's profile. Photos, videos and records live on the profile itself, so they don't depend on whoever's phone they were added from.

Do invited adults pay to use a shared profile?

No. A child's plan is bought once, by the owner. Anyone invited to that child gets the same access without buying anything themselves.

Can other adults change what I wrote?

Linked adults can edit child details and add, edit, remove and export shared care and Journal entries, including entries someone else made. Only the owner manages billing, removes another adult or deletes the profile.

Is everything on a profile shared?

A child's care and Journal records are shared with everyone invited to that child. Your own assistant conversations aren't shared with the other adults, and nothing from a profile is posted to Community for you.

Can I keep a copy of everything?

Yes. You can request a calendar-year yearbook as a PDF, or the full profile as a ZIP archive, any time you have access to it.

Is the assistant unlimited?

No. Each child has 20 questions a day and 100 a month, shared by all adults linked to that child. Other fair-use limits can pause questions sooner.

Is the assistant a doctor?

No. It is an automated AI system, not a person, and it is not a doctor, nurse or other licensed professional. It answers from your child's records and the sources it cites. Its answers can be wrong and are not medical advice. Check anything that matters with your child's healthcare professional, and in an emergency call 911 in the US or your local emergency number.

Can I upload any length of video?

Each video can run up to 10 minutes. Photos and videos both use your child’s shared storage allowance.
