Withya Health, Safety and AI Notice

Last updated: October 26, 2026 · Version 1.0

If you think a child or adult is in immediate danger, or a child is not breathing, is choking, is unresponsive, has a seizure or shows another sign of a serious condition, call emergency services now: 911 in the United States and Canada, 999 in the United Kingdom, 112 in the European Union and India, 000 in Australia, or your local emergency number. For a suspected poisoning, call your poison-control line: 1-800-222-1222 in the United States, 1-844-764-7669 in Canada, NHS 111 in the United Kingdom, 13 11 26 in Australia, 1800-116-117 in India, or your national poison center. If you or another adult is thinking about suicide or self-harm, or is in crisis, call or text 988 in the United States or Canada, call Samaritans on 116 123 in the United Kingdom, Lifeline on 13 11 14 in Australia or Tele-MANAS on 14416 in India, or contact your local crisis line or emergency number elsewhere. Do not wait for the app, a reminder, an Assistant answer or a community reply.

This notice explains in plain terms what Withya is for, what it is not, how artificial intelligence is used in it, and what to keep in mind when you use its guides, estimates, charts, reminders and community. In this notice, “Withya”, “we” and “us” mean Withya and the company that operates it, named in section 10. This notice forms part of our Terms and Conditions. Where it covers the same ground as the Terms, it is shorter and plainer, and if anything here conflicts with the Terms, the Terms govern.

1. In an emergency

Withya is not an emergency service. It is not designed to detect emergencies or crises, does not contact emergency services or alert anyone, and cannot make sure that another adult sees an entry, a message or a question. Get help first; recording what happened can wait.

The absence of a warning, an apparently normal chart, a missing reminder or a reassuring answer is not a sign that a child is safe. For a concerning symptom or an urgent question, contact your child’s clinician or another qualified local professional. Emergency, poison-control and crisis numbers can change, so confirm the numbers for where you are.

2. What Withya is for

Withya is intended to help adults who care for a young child to:

  • record and share everyday care, such as feeds, sleep, diapers, growth measurements, temperatures and medicines given;
  • keep a family journal of notes, milestones, photos and videos;
  • organize plans, such as appointments, tasks, checklists and reminders; and
  • find general information through guides and the Assistant.

Withya is software for recordkeeping, organization and general information. It is not a medical device. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate or prevent any disease or condition, or to monitor, examine, screen or assess your child. Using Withya does not create a clinician-patient relationship or any other professional relationship.

3. What Withya is not

Withya, including the Assistant, is not a doctor, pediatrician, nurse, pharmacist, therapist, counselor, psychologist, lactation consultant, dietitian, sleep consultant, lawyer or any other licensed professional, and it holds no professional license. Withya does not provide medical, mental-health or behavioral-health care, therapy or counseling. Information in Withya about feeding, sleep, behavior or development is general parenting information.

Withya is not a baby monitor. It does not measure or monitor breathing, sleep safety, temperature, heart rate or other vital signs, it does not watch over your child, and it does not alert you or anyone else about your child’s condition. Timers and displays on your phone, watch, widgets or lock screen show what adults have recorded; they do not sense or check on your child.

Withya is not a childcare provider and does not supervise children. Supervising and caring for your child remain with you and the adults you choose.

4. AI in Withya

How we use AI

We use artificial intelligence (AI), including models developed by other companies, to provide and improve features such as the Assistant and turning photos of paper records into suggested entries, and to help prepare some of our content. We access these models through our cloud account, and they run in our cloud provider’s data centers as part of the Withya service; a request may be processed in more than one data center, and the Privacy Policy describes where information is processed. We do not give your family’s information to the companies that develop these models. We do not use your family’s information to train AI models. Our providers are not permitted to use it to train their own models. We may analyze records within Withya to check and improve our own features, for example to measure how well estimates work; that is not training an AI model. We do not show advertising in the Assistant, and we do not use what you ask it to target advertising. Our Privacy Policy explains how information used by these features is handled.

The Assistant is software, not a person

The Assistant is AI, not a person. It generates answers automatically from your question, details from the selected child’s profile and records, recent messages in the conversation and excerpts from our guides. It works from what has been recorded, which may be incomplete, late or entered by another adult, and it cannot see or examine your child. Text that you or another adult entered can include names or other identifying details. The assistant is optional; the Privacy Policy explains permission choices, what is sent, and how to stop new requests.

AI answers and transcriptions can be wrong, incomplete, out of date or misapplied to your child, and they may sound confident when they are wrong. No person reviews an answer before you see it. For some questions we show fixed safety text that points you to emergency or professional help instead of a generated answer. Whether that text appears depends on how a question is worded; it does not assess your child, and its absence does not mean that care is not needed.

The Assistant is not designed to diagnose, to calculate or confirm medicine doses, or to decide whether your child needs care. Do not rely on any AI output, including Assistant answers and transcriptions, to make decisions about health, safety, feeding, sleep, medicines or legal matters; check with a qualified professional first. If an answer seems wrong, unsafe or inappropriate, report it with the in-app report control.

Importing history

When you import history from another app’s export or from photos of handwritten or paper records, Withya turns it into suggested entries. Photos of pages are read by AI, which can misread handwriting, numbers, units, times and dates, and imported files can be matched to the wrong kind of entry. Review each suggested entry, and correct or discard it, before you keep it. Anything visible in a photo may be processed, so photograph only the pages you mean to import.

Content made with AI tools

Some Withya content may be created or prepared with the help of AI tools. Guides are not reviewed by clinicians unless a guide says so.

5. Guides, recipes, activities and products

Guides, articles, recipes, activities and buying and preparation information in Withya are general information drawn from public sources, such as government health agencies and professional organizations. They are not advice for your child, and they are not reviewed by clinicians unless a guide says so. Sources change their guidance; we check our sources periodically, but a guide may not reflect the latest guidance. Guidance differs by country, state and locality, our coverage is strongest for the United States, and guidance for one place may not suit another. A citation to a source does not mean that the source reviewed, endorsed or approved Withya or our use of its material.

A recipe’s age label does not establish that a child is ready for a food, can swallow it safely, will not react to an allergen or is getting adequate nutrition. Activities are general ideas and need adult supervision. Products and retailers mentioned or linked in Withya are not endorsed by us. Before you buy or use a product, check its label, instructions, age and weight limits and any recalls, for example with your country’s product-safety authority.

6. Estimates, charts and reminders

Sleep estimates

Sleep estimates are aids for planning your child’s routine. Withya calculates them from the sleep recorded on your child’s profile and the answers you give in the app. Their accuracy has not been established, and they can be wrong. They are not a health assessment or a prediction about your child’s health or development, and they do not replace safe-sleep guidance. Follow safe-sleep guidance from your child’s clinician and public-health authorities, whatever an estimate shows.

Growth charts and percentiles

Growth percentiles compare recorded measurements with published reference values. They are reference values, not a diagnosis. Measurement technique, units, gestational history and missing measurements affect them, and no percentile or chart is an assurance of health or a prediction about development. Ask your child’s clinician about your child’s growth.

Medicines, temperatures and symptoms

Medicine entries are records of what was given. They are not a dosing tool: they do not check a medicine, dose, timing, interaction or suitability, and an entry or reminder is not a way to decide whether another dose is safe. Follow the product label and the advice of the prescriber or pharmacist. Temperature and symptom entries are records too; Withya is not designed to assess them or to decide whether your child needs care.

Totals, summaries and reminders

Totals, summaries, charts and insights depend on what was recorded, when and by whom, and a missing record does not mean that something did not happen. Reminders and notifications may fail, be late or not arrive, for example because of device settings, connectivity or the services that deliver them, and what a watch, widget or lock screen shows may be out of date. Keep your own reminders for anything essential, such as medicines and appointments. Marking a plan as done does not show that a visit, vaccination or treatment took place.

7. Community

The community is optional. Posts, replies and messages share other adults’ own experiences and opinions. They are not medical, legal or professional advice, and they are not verified or endorsed by Withya. We do not verify members’ identities or qualifications. Posts and replies may be reviewed by our team before they appear, and today they generally are, to apply the Community Guidelines, but that review is not a check of whether information is accurate or safe, and direct messages are not screened before delivery. Check health information from another member with a qualified professional before acting on it.

8. Your decisions

Decisions about your child’s health, care and safety are yours to make, with your child’s clinician and other professionals. Withya’s information, estimates, charts and AI answers are for you to consider; they do not make decisions about you or your child. Verify anything important with a qualified professional or the original source before you act on it, and check the selected child, units and times when you record or read an entry. Follow product labels and instructions and the advice of your child’s professionals. If anything in Withya conflicts with the advice of your child’s clinician, a product label or emergency services, follow them, not Withya.

9. Responsibility and limits

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Withya is not responsible for harm or loss arising from reliance on guides, articles, recipes, activities, AI responses, transcriptions, summaries, estimates, charts, reminders, community content, links, products or any other feature of Withya. Our Terms apply to these features, including the warranty disclaimer (section 15), the limitation of liability (section 16) and the country-specific terms (section 13). This notice does not create any warranty or promise beyond those in the Terms.

Nothing in this notice or the Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence; for a violation of law, where the law that applies does not permit that liability to be excluded or limited; or any other right or guarantee that cannot be excluded or limited under the law that applies to you, including those described in the Terms’ country-specific terms.

10. Reporting a problem and contacting us

If an answer, guide, estimate, reminder or anything else in Withya seems wrong or unsafe, stop relying on it and tell us, using the in-app report control where there is one or by email to [email protected]. A report does not replace getting help: if the matter is urgent, contact a clinician or emergency services first. Support is not an emergency service and may not reply quickly, and a reply from support is not medical advice.

Withya is operated by STH Technologies, LLC, 9206 Sunshine Pl, Downey, CA 90240, United States. Contact: [email protected].

We may update this notice from time to time. The version and date at the top show when it last changed.
